New Royalty Coronated at LCO Ojibwe School

LCO Ojiwbe Schools 2014 Royalty
Friday, January 24th was a special day at the LCO Ojibwe School because the new school royalty was introduced to the community. The Treaty Day Pow-wow was celebrated that day. The school honored the out-going royalty first. Receiving an honorarium for completing their duties as leaders were the following: Elementary Ogichidaakwe – Cali Perry, Elementary Ogichidaa – Caden Grover, Runner-Up- Sage Stands-Christensen, Middle School Ogichidaakwe- Mikayla Radermacher and Runner-Up-Ellen Corbine, Ogichidaa- Leon Jack and Runner-Up-Brandon Corbine. High School  Runner-Up Ogichidaakwe- Lydia Kessenich and Ogichidaa-Marcus Morrow.

The new school royalty includes: 
Elementary Ogichidaakwe- Savanah Larson and Runner-Up Evangia Butler; Ogichidaa- Melvin White III and Runner-Up Clarence Miller 
Middle School Ogichidaakwe- Maria Acosta and Runner-Up Esperanza Yanez. Ogichidaa- Connor Beaulieu. 
High School Ogichidaakwe- Jessy Martinson, Ogichidaa – Brandon Corbine and Runner-Up Marcus Morrow.

The school royalty students are responsible for leading dances while wearing full regalia, being leaders in academics, language, and  helpers in the community. A variety of activities are planned for thsi years royalty.
